I'm going to Perth tomorrow.  I don't know what there is to do there.  Perhaps I'll sit in my mother's hotel room, order room service and watch TV.   There's something oddly seedy about that...

Lately I have been working.  Work work work.  Yesterday was my last day, and I never want to work there again, though there were some interesting characters.  The man who looked like he had a huge tumour growing from his skull, the old lady who would meet her friend at the café and seemed obsessed with her, the smiling deaf man.  Anyway, I'm glad I'm gone, and it will be awhile before I can look at a cup of coffee in the same way again.

Kat came over in her big red car (a la the Wigges) and we watched Mansfield Park...and then Persuasion.  Oh those bonnets are quite becoming.  It's always two men fighting over the upstanding heroine, isn't it?  I tried to make a frittata, but it rose.   A lot.  I didn't think egg was supposed to rise that much.  Anyway, nobody trusts that there is any good food at my house.

I had fast food for the first time in a long time.  My burger had the strangest filling: 2 pieces of anonymous meat patty, bacon, egg, lettuce, mayo, cheese.  Yeah, I know, it's a bit ambitious to put that much filling in

There's a bunch of wasps building their nest in our letter box.  Today me and Jess H tried to dislodge it, but the rather unhappy wasps would swarm at us, just like in cartoons, and we were really no match for them with our pointy sticks.

Things I did over the last couple of days

  • Did some Frontline-esque posing and posturing, with fake chatting and everything
  • Wrote Christmas cards that I fear may never be read
  • Watched my new bonsai tree photosynthesise
  • Got older
  • Spent too much money
  • Bought tickets to Sigur Ros wooot!!!
  • Got tongue-tied on some French

A tout a l'heure!
(that's a toot allure!)

Hellooo.  Let's seeeee what's new

I got back from 2 weeks in Italy, which was overally spiffing.  It SNOWED hurrahh!  There shall be photos later

And I went to my first Speech Night since Year 2.  And the teachers were wearing cloaks!  The fact that nobody has ever told me this before is a heinous crime.  I would've come to all the other years if I knew, dammit!  I must say, those cloaks are very becoming.  And I feel oddly compelled to read a Matthew O'Riley book now, despite mutant gorillas and competing aliens sound umm...

And I saw the new Harry Potter movie   There was only one measley shot of the band, the Weird Sisters! ergh!  And look, Snape ain't so bad after all... awwwwwww  he's smiling

Oh, and it's 4.35am right now and I can't sleep. pooey

Exams are over   Actually they've been over for awhile but hey.  umm I sure hope I studied enough because it seemed like an anti-climax, I just wanted to sit around and watch Oprah.  Motivation 0, Procratination 1 - I don't think the scoring thing works like that...

I dug up my old Latin books from Yr9/10 that hadn't seen daylight for many a year.  Oh the nostalgia:

This is where it all began.  Scintilla in casa laborat...thaaaaat's right

And my fave chapter about the Roman baths.  Oh how cunningly they managed to cover up the genetalia, how completely subtle... I particularly like the guy in bottom left corner with strategically placed murky water heheh

indeeeeed it does
